Distribution 2.0
While there are many vertical search engines target at buyer by aggregating contents from multiple domain specific websites, there are also a number of startups that look at this equation from the other angle to simplify seller’s work through automatic content distribution. vFlyer (see coverage on VentureBeat and News.com), Postlets, Coupons.com are good examples of these kind of services.
Sellers today are faced with the problem of having to visit and post to multiple websites and marketplaces in order to sell their products and services. This process is tedious and time consuming. Through these services, a seller can enter information in one place, and leverage these distribution engines to route the information to multiple vertical search engines and marketplaces. These companies are relatively new, but the value proposition seems to makes sense for seller and market places.
